Kittens are a lot of fun, and the more time you spend with your new kitten and learn about how to best care for them, the more they will bond with you and become a very special member of your family.

If you're considering getting a kitten or cat to add to your family remember that this is a decision with long-term consequences that needs to be given a lot of consideration.
- Will the cat live mostly indoors or outdoors?
- Do you have young children? If so an active and fun breed might be more appropriate then a sleepy, inactive one.
- How much time do you have to care for and bond with the kitten? Some breeds are high maintenance!
- Do you currently own any other pets that may conflict with owning a cat? Dogs, birds, fish and other small animals for example.
