Characteristics:

Elegant, regal-looking medium sized cat with strong, long bodies. They have round, wedge-shaped heads with distinctive tufted tips to the ears which are large and pointed their eyes are large and almond-shaped. Their coats are a unique tickling pattern, which looks darker across the spine, best known or most common is usual or ruddy but also, seen is sorrel, blue or fawn.

Silver Abyssinians are a separate group which includes black silver, blue silver, fawn silver and sorrel silver. Not so common colours are tortoiseshell, red, cream, chocolate and lilac.

An active cat that is intelligent and curious, but this is tempered with a cautious streak. It is extremely loyal, and will become very attached to its family. The male will generally tolerate other cats well, but the female may be a little prickly and prefer to be the only cat in the family.

Both sexes can form strong attachments to dogs. The worst thing that you can do to an Abyssinian is deprive it of human company, and it is important that it lives in a household where people are usually at home. It also hates being confined, and needs plenty of space. It is a good climber, and will appreciate a garden full of trees and high places. This cat is not much of a talker, but will still let its owner know exactly what it wants. It is playful and inquisitive but also sensible and will not rush into situations recklessly. After a game it will be happiest sat on its owners lap being stroked and petted.

Relatively easy to care for their coats will need a brush and comb through the coat occasionally and then polish with a damp chamois leather to bring out the shine. When moulting, use a rubber grooming mitt to remove the dead hairs from the coat.

Australian Mist cat

Characteristics:

Australian Mists are an Australian Breed, they are of moderate size, medium boned, rounded of head, with large eyes and ears. The coat is short, but resilient, the tail is plumply furred. The colours are warm brown, blue, chocolate, lilac, gold and peach; the pattern is of delicate spots or intricate marbled swirls against a misty ground, with legs and tail ringed and barred, and the face lined. Eyes are large and expressive. The nose, chin and whiskerpads are broad giving the face a generous expression.

Very popular with first time pedigree cat buyers, their well bred but not extreme appearance appeals as essentially cat. Their colours come in two patterns - Spotted or Marbled and Seven Colours - Brown, Blue, Chocolate, Lilac, Caramel, Gold or Peach.

They make perfect pets for children of all ages, even very young ones, as they are tolerant of handling, and are not inclined to scratch.

As kittens they are lively, but sober up a little on maturity. Australian Mists thrive on human contact, making them happy to remain indoors between dusk and dawn or to be wholly indoor pets, an advantage as most people now prefer to keep their pets indoors.

Their tendency to crawl into the nearest lap with or without invitation and to constantly hang around to see what people are up to, makes them excellent companions for home workers or the elderly.

Desexed cats and kittens fit in easily with all sorts of cats and dogs. These qualities create a truly companionable pet for any household and lifestyle, an Australian Mist will quickly become a member of the family.

The short close lying coat of the Australian Mist does not require much grooming although they do appreciate the attention that comes with it.

Bengal cat

Characteristics:

The Bengal have similarities to that of a wild cat in appearance. They are a large cat and quite muscular.  Everything about the cat appears large, massive, and thick. The only thing that is moderate is the medium leg length.

The Bengal has a large, triangular shaped head. He has a thick neck, large feet, and a thick tail. The spots on the coat should not line up in rows, but should appear randomly placed. The coat of the Bengal is short and may even feel a little rough naturally.

There are three different coat colours of the Bengal: Traditional Tabby colours: Brown Spotted & Brown Marbled. Sepia Tabby Colours: Seal Sepia Spotted Tabby & Seal Sepia Marbled Tabby. Mink Colours: Seal Mink Spotted Tabby & Seal Mink Marbled Tabby.

Bengals are intelligent, active, energetic cats. Bengals have a love of water. They are agile, love to climb & can be vocal with a distinctive voice.

They get along well with other pets & people. Bengals enjoy high places & are enthusiastic climbers. Many Bengal owners have trained their cat to walk on a harness, so they can enjoy the great outdoors in safety.

The Domestic also known as the Moggie reigns supreme in the hearts of millions of Australians.
This basic feline with its unsophisticated charm has been part of our lives for as far back as we can remember. Moggies do not conform to any standards - coming in a range of shapes and sizes, plus a riot of attractive coat colours and patterns. Interestingly, the tortoiseshell is almost customarily female, while the rare male is inevitably sterile. Red tabbies are often males.

Moggies are invariably extremely robust, hardy cats with a no-fuss, self-assured nature.

Most have a short easy-care coat but some have a fluffier coat which require grooming.
